It’s yet to be seen how Apple TV’s WeCrashed, out later this month, handles the story of WeWork and its eccentric founders, Adam Neumann (Jared Leto) and wife Rebekah (Anne Hathaway), but safe to say it will fly or flail by the same basic recipe of scam intrigue. Peacock’s Joe v Carole was an uneven and generally unwelcome rehash of Tiger King, the curdled Netflix docuseries on violence and enmity in the world of private zoos – call it the scam of one’s personal realm – but with Kate McKinnon in a wig.
Super Pumped, Showtime’s anthology series on the ruthless rise of Uber under disgraced CEO Travis Kalanick, lacquered fourth wall breaks and narration by Quentin Tarantino over paper-thin insight into the relentless drive for profit. To the point, that it would just take a **** on the floor during meetings.Inventing Anna, Shonda Rhimes’s nine-part Netflix limited series on the “fake heiress” Anna Delvey, was largely an overlong and underwhelming disappointment that cast its inscrutable subject’s ambition in too hazy a glow. I also love the story of her owning a Husky(?), telling everyone it was a wolf, and then letting it have free roam of the office and in their board meetings. At any rate, Boise himself is a fraud of the highest caliber. If they failed to adequately investigate Schultz' claims of fraud, and simply proceeded in gestapo type tactics, I'd certainly file grievances with whatever state bars they were members of - if they came after me or my client. Serving on the board and as counsel isn't a straight up conflict, but it can become one when fraud is involved. Schultz and likely hired the PIs to follow him. Well, turns out Boise (sp?) was not only Theronos counsel but also a board member! He and his so-called firm were the ones that put the thumbscrews to the younger Mr. Remember that slimy attorney that represented Gore in 2000? David Boise? He was all over the news in 2009-10 regarding Bernie Madoff (sp?).
The elder Schultz didn't "send" the goon squad after his grandson, but certainly didn't stand in the way and stayed on the board well after all the dirt came out. After he finally realized it was a scam he had to go crawling back to his grandson. Dude was bought in and thought his grandson had lost his mind. Grandson figured out the whole thing was a scam and his grandfather basically sent the Theranos secret police after him to try and get him to sign documents against his will. One of the more wilder stories out of that was with George Schultz's grandson(?) who worked there.
